Yeezy Size Guide - How do they fit?

The Yeezy Brand, whose creator is one of the most influential artists of all time (Kanye West), has become one of the most popular shoe brands – this is due to the unique, innovative designs that are inspired by Kanye and the supreme comfort that is tied into the Adidas brand (Yeezy has a partnership with Adidas). Furthermore, the Yeezy has become popular due to the multitude of colorways that are released and the exclusivity of most pairs of Yeezys – most of the public are not able to snag a pair of Yeezys so they become a valuable commodity. In light of the recent annual Yeezy day and the drops are to come, we have decided to bring you a complete size guide that will aid you if you decide to buy a pair of Yeezys (if you're thinking about it, do!)

So, how do Yeezy 350s fit?

The quick answer to your question is that the 350 version of the Yeezy fits small compared to other Adidas shoes, so you should go half a size up to make sure that they fit perfectly. We don’t know why this is but they just do; for example, if you are a US 8 usually, you should order a US 8.5 size if you are looking to buy a pair of 350s. This is because the US 8 version of the Yeezy 350 fits like a US 7.5 so you should go half a size up from your real size. If you do decide to stick to a US 8 (your normal size for example), your toe will be at the end of the shoe vertically – after a few weeks of use, you will ‘break in’ the shoe and you should be good to go. However, on the other hand, you could damage the shoe if your foot touches the toe box as it may cause the Primeknit upper to become over-stretched and this could damage your shoe. Therefore, I would recommend going half a size up for your Yeezy 350s. This will change if you have wide or narrow feet – if you have wide feet, I would recommend going a whole size up from your normal shoe size. This is because I usually recommend going half a size up if the shoe fits true to size. In the case of the Yeezy 350 & 350 V2, the shoe doesn’t fit true to size so you should go a full size up if you have wide feet. If you have narrow feet, I would recommend going half a size up.

How do Yeezy 500s fit?

You might be surprised to know that the Yeezy 500 also fits half a size small, despite its frankly massive appearance on the outside. The Yeezy 500 is a minimalist sneaker that doesn’t have any shocking colourways that you would usually expect from a visionary like Kanye. It is described as a ‘refreshingly minimal take on the early-aughts basketball-inspired sneaker’ – I can see where they are coming from. Personally, I am a huge fan of the Yeezy 500 as it is more subtle and refined than other Yeezys like the Yeezy 700 MNVN (jokingly known as the Minivan in the sneaker world due to the large, chunky design but the MNVN stands for Modern Vision). The Yeezy 500 also features supreme comfort and features the premium quality materials that you would expect from a Yeezy sneaker.

Similar to the Yeezy 350, the Yeezy 500 fits small. Therefore, I would recommend going half a size up from your usual (true) size to make sure that the shoe fits comfortably. I wouldn’t recommend going a whole size up if you have normal sized feet as this may cause your feet to have a lot of breathing room and space to move around in. I would only recommend going a size up if you have wide sized feet and would recommend going only half a size up if you have narrow feet to make sure your feet fit in the shoe in the vertical direction. The toebox of the Yeezy 500 is much wider than the toebox of the Yeezy 350 – even though, I would recommend going half a size up from your normal size. Moreover, the toebox of the Yeezy 500 is a lot firmer compared to the toebox of the Yeezy 350 so it is much harder to break in the Yeezy 500’s so I would definitely not recommend going half a size down.

How do the Yeezy 700s and 700 V2s fit?

The Yeezy 700 is inspired by the silhouette of a running shoe and is arguably Kanye’s best silhouette for a shoe. The Yeezy 700 features Boost and the use of premium materials, which makes the Yeezy 700 very comfortable to wear. The Yeezy 700 features an upper that is composed of suede, leather and mesh – this medley of materials makes the sneaker attractive and out there (something Kanye is known for!) The Yeezy 700 V2 features an upper of roller knit and leather with nubuck – moreover, it features reflective details which make the shoe stand out at all times.

The Yeezy 700 fits true to size if you like a snug, comfortable fit. On the other hand, if you like a bit of breathing room, I would recommend going half a size up. The Yeezy 700 Waverunner fits snug and true to size, while the Mauve, Inertia and Analog colorways run small as they feature padding and elastic that holds the tongue in tighter. For these tighter versions, you should go half a size up.

The Yeezy 700 V2 features Primeknit in the upper compared to the mesh in the first iteration of the 700. The Yeezy 700 V2 is the most comfortable Yeezy yet due to the ortholite insole and the full-length boost midsole. When paired with the Primeknit, this means that the Yeezy 700 V2 is more comfortable in the toebox area meaning that you can stay true to size.
